It prohibits prescribing hormone therapy to transgender children. A doctor who provides gender-affirming care could have their medical license revoked. It forces educators to out children to their parents. Provides that a student’s conversation with an educator about their gender identity is grounds for a civil action. Dictates that the damages awarded in a such a case must be at least $5,000.
We oppose this bill because gender-affirming care is lifesaving care. A child’s medical treatment only concerns the child, their family, and physician, and physicians should not face dire consequences for providing appropriate and lifesaving care.
