Yet another attack on a woman's ability to get an abortion, this bill attempts to prevent an abortion the moment a heartbeat can be detected.  This would also provide that a civil action could be taken against a woman who gets an abortion, and criminal penalties levied.  The ACLU doesn't support any legislation that would curtail a woman's right to choose, and intervening in the medical process by threatening civil action and criminal penalties is unconscionable.
