South Carolina’s population is growing, but our voter rolls are shrinking. South Carolina removed 1.2 million voters from its rolls between 2022 and 2025. That’s more than the number of new voters who registered in the same period.

Methodology: Data analysis conducted by Alex Yurcaba, Senior Analyst, ACLU Technology Department. These data are from the South Carolina Election Commission's Voter History Results and Annual Reports. They show the number of voters registered in each county on the date of each statewide election from 1984 to present. Voters are disaggregated by race and age.
In this statistical analysis, the term "non-white" includes people who the state identified as Asian, Hispanic, Black / African American, or Native American.
