Know Your Rights

The values of equality and fairness are being challenged in our legislatures and courts. We've seen this trend across a number of civil liberties issues including: the perpetuation of mass incarceration and deplorable prison and jail conditions; police overreach; comprehensive attacks on LGBTQ people; restricted access to abortion care; people and organizations using religion as a basis to discriminate; a nationwide effort by state legislatures to restrict access to the ballot box; anti-immigrant laws targeting people of color, separating children from their parents, and categorically denying people of their right to seek asylum; and discriminatory disciplinary practices that push children of color out of school and into the criminal justice system. Across the country, the ACLU will continue to fight until the Constitution belongs to ALL of us, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, race, religion, disability, national origin or ideology.
