The position is responsible for maintaining the overall and day-to-day operations of the organization. The Operations Director provides hands-on oversight of human resources, risk management and compliance, and information technology functions. This role also supervises the Operations Coordinator and contract partners, including accountants and auditors. The Operations Director is a partner of, and adviser to, the Executive Director, and will help provide support for the Board of Directors.

The Southern Legal Internship Program (SLIP) will place legal interns at ACLU affiliates in each of the 13 states in the ACLU's Southern Collective. SLIP interns will contribute to crucial legal, policy, and organizing campaigns in the issue areas that most affect Black and Brown communities in the region, including voting rights, educational equity, gender justice, and criminal legal reform.

The Wilkinson intern will work closely with the ACLU-SC legal and advocacy staff to support the work of the affiliate. Projects may include researching and drafting legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and briefs; analyzing existing or future legislation; meeting with clients, coalition partners, or community members; attending events; and participating in strategy discussions.
