The South Carolina Legislature consists of two bodies - the Senate and the House of Representatives.  There are 46 Senators and 124 Representatives.

The Legislature begins their regular session annually in Columbia on the second Tuesday in January, and must adjourn not later than the second Thursday in May, unless an extension is agreed to by a two-thirds vote of both bodies.

In 2019, the state legislature will be back in session on January 8, 2019.
