Update: The fight to protect abortion rights in South Carolina

South Carolina has taken center stage in the fight to protect our constitutional right to access abortion. While state senators debated a near total ban on abortion, our friends at  Planned Parentood South Atlantic argued before the South Carolina Supreme Court to protect our rights.

If Roe v Wade (Roe) is overturned, South Carolina lawmakers will attempt to further prohibit or severely restrict abortion. Laws that prevent people from making their own decisions about whether to continue a pregnancy or have an abortion amount to forced pregnancy.
